This page is a quick way to get in touch with the mod team. If you have a suggestion for a future event, would like to request NPC interaction, need clarification on something, or have questions about anything Peckenpaugh-related, you can post that here. All comments on this page are screened initially, but threads with valuable information may be made public. You can also contact us via email at peckishmods@gmail.com. We will try to address all questions and requests in a timely manner. If it has been seven days and you have not received a response, we encourage you to bump your comment with an edit or reply.
What sorts of things can I ask about here?
- Questions about the setting at large.
- Questions about NPCs.
- Questions about the application or the character roster.
- If you need clarification of the rules, IC or OOC.
- If you would like mod assistance, permission or input on an event you'd like to run.
- If you want your character to do something, but aren't sure if it's okay to do, or if you'd like to know potential IC consequences before you do something.
- Suggestions for pcal slots, events or anything of that nature.
- Requests for NPC interactions with staff, townies and any other mod controlled characters roaming the hills.
- Requests for a roll if you're out late at night or otherwise doing something that might get you in trouble. What does the roll net you? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Once a month you may request an RNG roll to see if you find anything cool at Spellunking or are successful in acquiring spirits from Elflock Liquor.
- If you need to drop a character or leave the game. :(
- And, honestly, anything game related!
Re: Viola & Aris Go the Library
It’s not hard to track down the files for the 1980s and 1990s with everything preserved magically in bigger-on-the-inside boxes. Though even for hunting through just three years of records, it takes a great deal of digging to find anything useful. There is one thing that still immediately stands out: despite the immaculate condition of records dating back even a hundred years, once the two of them hit 1988, many of the newspapers, photos, fliers and typed records have been damaged and molded over, obscuring whole articles, simple details in stories, and faces in photos — it could just be that whoever was in charge those three years did a shoddy job with preservation work, but it also seems almost like the plaque growing over the pages is redacting specific things.
Eventually, in a newspaper from May of 1989, along with a front page article that has been entirely molded over except for the headline ‘BoNE BREAKS: OUTREACH INITIATIVE SHATTERED’, they find an obituary for one Mr. Caleb Qualls. Like the rest of this particular paper, most of this inch and a half square has been covered with some sort of plant-based plaque. What they are able to read is not very illuminating: “...succumbed to his injuries…” “...survived by his…” “...will be honored for his heroic…”
Going into the 1990s, the damaged files persist. The only other mention of Qualls is an August 1990 article from the local paper celebrating the fact that Caleb Qualls, beloved local instructor, has returned to work posthumously as he is now a ghost. It’s very much a fluff piece, making no mention of these supposed “injuries” or any “heroics” mentioned just a few months prior. Also in this August paper is an almost fully obscured front page article that mentions, “The BoMB’s new magical preserve…”
