AV CLUB

Being wizards, you'd think the students of Peckenpaugh wouldn't have much use for old school electronics. And, for the most part, you'd be right, but there's always a projector that needs fixing or a lecture someone wants recorded. That's not the club's main draw, though — Peckenpaugh is home to a fairly impressive wizard wireless broadcast station. Its programming, management and upkeep are the responsibility of the Audio/Video Club. Members learn the ins and outs of station administration and some even get the chance to host their own shows and segments!
A/V Club is sponsored by Mr. Hobgood. It meets every Friday at 3:00 PM at the radio station on Central Campus.
- PRESIDENT: (open)
- SENIORS: Anthony, Echo, Gemma, Kermit, Valkyrie, Winifred, Xenia
- JUNIORS: Armani, Aristotle, Chanel, Felicity, Laszlo, Ramona
- SOPHOMORES: Cedar, Gideon, Hawthorne, Skip, Willow
ADVENTURE CLUB

For outdoors-y types, thrill-seekers and those just looking for an excuse to get away from campus, there's Adventure Club. In addition to weekly local hiking, boating and (weather permitting) ice skating excursions, Adventure Club plans several big trips throughout the year for the school at large. Camping, skiing, canoeing and white water rafting— just about anything to get students out there and experiencing West Virginia, Wild & Wonderful. The club is as physically demanding as the name implies, but Ms. Min makes sure everyone is at least mostly enjoying themselves.
Adventure Club is sponsored by Ms. Min. It meets every Friday at 4:30, usually starting out in Club Room 2 in the central classroom building.
- PRESIDENT: (open)
- SENIORS: Anthony, Audrey, Elijah, Gertrude, Howdy, Imogen, Jupiter, Merlin, Valkyrie
- JUNIORS: Armani, Fiona, Ian, Lydia, Mary Grace, Pax, Uriah, Wyatt
- SOPHOMORES: Kirby, Mia, Scarlett
APPALACHIAN HISTORY

Elflock Falls has a long and storied past, and even lifelong residents have a hard time keeping the facts straight about their hometown. Appalachian History Club members meet twice a month to learn about the area around them, talking to local historians and doing independent research to unlock the mysteries of the mountains. It's a favorite among the pedants who love correcting locals on their urban legends, and those wondering just what is lurking in these hills.
Appalachian History Club is sponsored by Mr. Trullinger. It meets every other Saturday at 4:30 PM in Club Room 2 in the central classroom building.
- PRESIDENT: (open)
- SENIORS: Kermit, Valkyrie, Winifred
- JUNIORS: Armani, Chanel,

ARITHLETES

Are you ready for MORE HOMEWORK? Arithletes is, essentially, a study group, preparing all year for the big Wiz Quiz Bowl in May. There are a handful of other (less prestigious and important) competitions that take place throughout the year, so students have to make sure they are always on their game if they want to join the field trips. The competitions usually focus on heavily academic subjects, like magical theory, history, and math, but Dr. Huang insists members diversify their studies and maybe try memorizing national Quodpot stats, just in case they get thrown a curveball.
Arithletes is sponsored by Dr. Huang. It meets every Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Club Room 2 in the central classroom building.
- PRESIDENT: Chanel Addams
- SENIORS: Claudia, Elijah, Gertrude, Howdy, Lionel
- JUNIORS: Chanel, Edgar, Honey, Laszlo, Patrice, Presley, Winter, Zadie
- SOPHOMORES: Kirby, Scarlett
BOWLING CLUB

Bowlers of all levels are welcome at Bowling Club! It’s not terribly structured, and one or two members invariably wander off to practice their DDR moves when the ball gets a little heavy, but it’s a good place for novices to get tips from the more experienced ball-rollers in their midst. If vanilla bowling feels a little played out, you can always hop into more magical varieties featuring not-quite-sentient pins (they try to get away! and scream when you hit them!), bowling balls with minds of their own and a great deal more flashing lights.
Bowling Club is sponsored by Ms. Treetops and...maybe Mr. Youngblood? No one's sure. It meets at Elflock Lanes every Thursday at 4:30 PM.
- PRESIDENT: Kermit Creekmore
- SENIORS: Audrey, Gemma, Joshua, Jupiter, Kermit, Winifred
- JUNIORS: Felicity,
- SOPHOMORES: Kirby, Mia
CREATIVE WRITING CLUB

This club alternates between writing workshops and book discussions, so voracious readers and hopeful writers can pick which weeks they want to attend. Book discussions are largely student led, while writing weeks see a more traditionally instructive structure. Mr. Crockett's gentle exasperation with the amount of fanfiction being written is never not funny.
Creative Writing/Book Club is sponsored by Mr. Crockett. It meets every Tuesday at 8:30PM in the Wizard Lit classroom.
- PRESIDENT: (open)
- SENIORS: Audrey, Claudia, Echo, Holland, Lionel, Winifred, Xenia
- JUNIORS: Fiona, Ramona, Uriah, Viola, Winter

CULINARY CLUB

While Home Mag-Ec already covers some meal prep, Culinary Club allows aspiring chefs and bakers to explore interesting recipes and more advanced cooking and baking techniques. Weekly, culinary club gets together to prepare a dinner as a group and eat together. More than once they've gotten distracted watching a World's Sharpest Knife video in the Muggle Studies lab instead.
Culinary Club is sponsored by Mr. Potkin. It meets every Monday at 5:30 PM in the Home Mag-Ec room.
- PRESIDENT: (open)
- SENIORS: Audrey, Harrison, Jupiter, Kermit, Magnolia, Merlin
- JUNIORS: Ian, Viola, Wyatt
- SOPHOMORES: Cicero, Gideon, Mia
DEBATE

The Debate & Public Speaking club at Peckenpaugh is well decorated with awards, perhaps owing to the fact that student members are exposed to the excellent (and near constant) debate skills of Ms. Altizer and Mr. Berzelius. Debate Club members learn research, public speaking and, of course, debate skills at meetings, and compete annually, often at the national level. Some say Ms. Altizer has promised to do one (1) dab in front of the school if they win a national title.
Debate & Public Speaking Club is sponsored by Ms. Altizer & Mr. Berzelius. It meets every Wednesday at 7:00 PM in Club Room 1 in the central classroom building.
- PRESIDENT: Cicero Cook
- SENIORS: Elijah, Gertrude, Howdy, Xenia
- JUNIORS: Fiona, Mary Grace, Tybalt
- SOPHOMORES: Bijou, Cicero, Mia
DUELLING & WANDWORK

Sure, sure, learning to fight and defend yourself is great and all, but what teenagers really want is to learn how to show off. Duelling & Wandwork is a bit of a hybrid club; plenty of students go there to learn dueling skills (and etiquette), and there’s ample time and opportunity to practice fighting classmates, but there are a lot of other fun, occasionally reckless things to do with a wand. Those only familiar with Mr. Purcell from his nap-inducing lectures might be surprised to see just how many different and highly effective methods he knows to eliminate an empty coke bottle.
Duelling & Wandwork Club is sponsored by Mr. Purcell. It meets every Tuesday at 4:30 PM in the Athletic Building.
- PRESIDENT: Presley Mondragon
- SENIORS: Echo, Gemma, Howdy, Imogen, Merlin
- JUNIORS: Adrian, Aristotle, Felicity, Laszlo, Mary Grace, Patrice, Presley, Ramona, Tybalt
- SOPHOMORES: Bijou, Gideon, Hawthorne, Kirby,
FILM CLUB

While Film Club does host regular movie nights for the whole school, most meetings are for members only. It's a popular club for obvious reasons, so more serious film buffs may find themselves watching muggle blockbusters more often than not. Mr. Stirling encourages a primarily student-led structure, letting the members pick films by popular vote. He only asks that after movie discussion remain serious, whether you've just watched Citizen Kane or Boss Baby. Boy, does he love Boss Baby discourse.
Film Club is sponsored by Mr. Stirling. It meets every Wednesday at 8:30 PM in Club Room 1 in the central classroom building.
- PRESIDENT: Mia Samaniego
- SENIORS: Anthony, Audrey, Jupiter, Maisy, Xenia
- JUNIORS: Armani, Desmond, Felicity, Fiona, Pax, Winter, Zadie
- SOPHOMORES: Cicero, Mia, Willow
GAMING CLUB

Gaming Club is the place for games that don’t require any kind of physical activity. Mr. Zahidi runs the group, but he’d rather spend the time geeking out about Easter eggs in Portal 2 than policing chess tournaments and Monopoly fights, so just, like, pipe down, guys. The Gaming Club shelves are full of board games, video games, and too many partial dice sets and obsolete charging cords, so just about anyone can find something to do. There’s even a PokeStop just outside, if you can get a signal long enough to check in.
Gaming Club is sponsored by Mr. Zahidi. It meets every Thursday at 8:30 PM in Club Room 1 in the central classroom building.
- PRESIDENT: (open)
- SENIORS: Gemma, Gertrude, Howdy, Kermit, Maisy
- JUNIORS: Adrian, Armani, Desmond, Felicity, Tybalt, Winter
- SOPHOMORES: Kirby, Scarlett, Skip
MAGIROBOTICS

Are you ready to rrrrruuuuumble?? Magirobotics Club takes Magi-Muggle integration to the next level, combining muggle tech and magic innovation to create a unique brand of automaton. The club often seems like barely controlled chaos from afar — because it is — but it’s also for serious tinkerers only. While Magirobotics members are encouraged to push boundaries and try new things, they are also tasked with crafting contraptions for specific events, like the local Magikinetic Sculpture Race, or Battlebots tournaments. They’ve notably never come close to winning a tournament or race, but maybe the real prize is the memories they made and the robot uprisings they quashed along the way. There’s limited space in the club, and each member must be selected by Dr. Ranui himself — a process usually done by “auditioning” against a Battlebot of his own.
Magirobotics Club is a limited slot club with room for 12 members. It is sponsored by Dr. Ranui and meets every Wednesday at 4:30 PM in the Artificing Shed.
- PRESIDENT: Honey Perez
- SENIORS: Howdy
- JUNIORS: Edgar, Honey, Ian, Lydia, Ramona
- SOPHOMORES: Atlas, Cedar, Cicero, Hawthorne, Kirby, Willow
MUGGLE MAGIC CLUB

Let's face it, sometimes, having access to real, actual, physics-defying magic just isn't enough — sometimes, you need a bit more pizzazz. Club members meet at the Zippy Dip in town to practice wandless "magic": card tricks, sleight of hand and other illusions. Meetings can err somewhat informal, with a considerable amount of time devoted to consuming milkshakes. Muggle Magic Club is widely regarded as dorky, but they're also the ones getting free ice cream every Saturday. So.
Muggle Magic Club is sponsored by Mr. Zippy Zebrowski, proprietor of the Zippy Dip. It meets every Saturday at 7:00 PM in the Zippy Dip.
- PRESIDENT: Winter Carmichael
- SENIORS: Echo, Gemma, Joshua, Winifred
- JUNIORS: Patrice, Ramona, Winter, Zadie
- SOPHOMORES: Atlas, Skip
PERFORMING ARTS CLUB

Peckenpaugh's performing arts club encompasses theatre, dance and music. Each year, the club hosts a number of stage productions, recitals and talent showcases. Members are required to participate in the school choir, but beyond that, the world is your oyster. The club accommodates all sorts, from behind-the-scenes crew members to traditional stage actors, dancers, stand-up comedians, and singers of all types. Basically, if it's something you do in front of a crowd, you'll get your chance to show it off in Performing Arts Club.
Performing Arts Club is sponsored by Madam Beridze. It meets every Monday at 4:00 PM in the auditorium on Central Campus.
- PRESIDENT: Echo Ellerby
- SENIORS: Echo, Gemma, Kermit, Maisy, Magnolia, Merlin
- JUNIORS: Adrian, Armani, Chanel, Felicity, Ian, Laszlo, Presley, Ramona
- SOPHOMORES: Atlas, Cicero, Bijou, Gideon
PRINT & YEARBOOK

In addition to publishing the school's bi-monthly newspaper, {THE NAME}, Peckenpaugh's Print Club also handles event photography and organizes the school yearbook. With that much on their plate, Print Club members are consistently busy. While Ms. Dorkins is certainly distractible, she’s strict about deadlines and does not tolerate members who don't take their work in the club seriously.
Print & Yearbook is a limited slot club with room for 12 members. It is sponsored by Ms. Dorkins. It meets every Thursday at 7:00 PM in the Computer Lab.
- PRESIDENT: Xenia de Bourgh
- SENIORS: Anthony, Holland, Maisy, Xenia
- JUNIORS: Aristotle, Fiona, Mary Grace, Uriah

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Student Council is a group of democratically elected students focused on the betterment of the high school experience. The Student Council is not a disciplinary body, and members hold no authority over their peers. Instead, their focus is on funding and service; members of student council are tasked with organizing community service outings for the whole school, planning and overseeing major fundraisers and supporting other clubs in event prep and hype, all while gaining a bit of administrative experience. There’s a bit more minutiae; student council members often lobby school administration over student hopes and concerns. The officers — president, vp, secretary and treasurer — are tasked with making the morning announcements.
Student Council is a limited slot club with room for 12 members. It is sponsored by Ms. Gunzenhauser and meets every Monday at 7:00 PM in Club Room 2 in the central classroom building.

OTHER ACTIVITIES?
If you're a student still wanting for more ways to keep yourself busy, perhaps you could try organized sports or the band? Administrator Kwan also leads an unofficial Cantonese study group on Sunday mornings, and Ms. Treetops is always happy to bring new students into her morning yoga lessons. Passionate academic overachievers could land an assistant spot with their favorite teacher. Even those who aren't cut out for helping to run a classroom can provide tutoring services to their peers. In town there's plenty of places that need part-time workers. And that's all ignoring the miles of totally safe and not at all mysterious hills and forests surrounding the school grounds...
